This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

All I can say is thank GOD...

Another week zooms by and I have to admit it's been pretty uneventful. Packed full of juices, health and gym visits to try and make right of all the weekend wrongs in our food and drink world!

We're now one week closer to not only our next holiday but most importantly The World Cup! Patriotic loyalty at the ready...you never know?! A post is winging it's way next week on 3BM's fav haunts to watch all the fun pan out, so keep your eyes peeled!

When we haven't been polishing our health halo or warming up our vocal chords with 'God Save the Queen'...The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Juicing like it's going out of fashion...like good little gym bunnies we continued our health kick this week in a bid to look in tip top shape for our Portugal holiday coming up!

I posted a few weeks back about our first juice experience - however I must admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the bitter beetroot and grapefruit combo! However since then we've trialed a few more options and found a couple we actually look forward to in the morning!

See our favourite recipe below...

You Need (serves 2)...

1 apple
1 pear
3 sticks celery - chopped
1 handful of kale
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 handful of mint (optional)

To Do...

1. Chop everything up (making sure you core the apple and pear)

2. Add 1 small glass of water (add as much as you need to get a drinkable consistency)

3. Blitz and serve over ice!

Scouting out new additions for our little black book after posting our top London sun traps last week.

To celebrate the end of a hellish week and that we officially made it to Friday (even with a two day Chiltern Firehouse induced hangover - a post coming next week!) we thought it would be criminal to miss the opportunity of some Friday evening sunshine drinks.

Where to go though? It had been a scorcher of a day so no doubt every rooftop would be ram packed without a reservation and we weren't up for queuing, we just needed a small space for a cheeky few en route home.

In the end we decided to check out the brand new Ham Yard Hotel. With a large outdoor courtyard and central location it ticked all boxes and being a newbie I was intrigued to see what was on offer!

After my iPhone took me on a wild goose chase around Piccadilly Circus I eventually located my goal and found my friend patiently sitting at a sweet pistachio green wrought iron table. The courtyard was large but not too packed, had a buzzy atmosphere and attentive service. As a part of the Firmdale Hotel Group I knew it wouldn't disappoint, and evidently has a great team of people behind it who know exactly what they're doing.

I haven't written a whole review as we only stopped by for a bottle of wine and a quick chatter to catch up on the weeks events; however I couldn't resist popping my head inside and caught a glimpse of the slick interior. High ceilings, mismatched prints, feature wall paper and over sized chandeliers, plus I also heard rumors of a private rooftop and bowling alley - I reckon we may just be back!

It doesn't hurt that the cocktail list looks pretty killer as well...!

Fondly eyeing up Middle Mouse's brand new Miu Miu purchase. Preparation for holiday is underway and day by day parcels are appearing ram packed with summer holiday 'essentials'!

As she almost certainly doesn't have enough sunglasses (her current collection could only cover a different pair a day with a few midday costume changes!!!) a brand spanking new pair were in desperate need!

They're not just any standard pair either...cushioned in a pastel pink velvet case, these tortoise shell beauties have a classic cat slant shape but with gem and stud encrusted arms...simply dazzling!!!

I wonder when she will deem it acceptable to find them propped upon my nose!!!!

So finally I thought I'd leave you with my feel good song of the day - Clean Bandit's amazing Live Lounge cover of Lorde's hit Royals.

Now get those party pants on it's time for the weekendddddd!

All that's left to say is...

Merry XX Xmas

What's the collective noun for a group of sick Mice? A Snuffle? A Kachoo?

Well, whatever the correct term, that's most certainly what us three Mice are this week. Over in London poor Middle and Mini have been floored by the horrid winter sickness bug and over in Hong Kong I've been struck down by Laryngitis - rather ironically, my voice has been reduced to a teeny tiny mouse-like squeak.

So, the week before Christmas and we're not feeling too festive, too ill for Christmas parties, not in the mood for mince pies and mulled wine, all in all a very sad state of affairs. But, in between sipping Lemsip and feeling very sorry for ourselves, we did come across a little festive tune that cheered us up a little... No, NOT Dominic the Donkey (although that is a 3BM fav!), The XX's Live Lounge cover of Wham's Last Christmas...

So, we'll get back to our tissues and onesies and leave you with a little laidback Chrimble loveliness. Fingers crossed we'll be back to high spirits and rocking around the Christmas tree very, very soon...

Music Medicine...

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Hendricks, frozen rose cocktails and Amaretto Sours equals fuzzy heads for all at 3BM London Towers...! That, plus a nice 7:30am wake up by BT to fix the Internet, has left me feeling as fresh as a dead daisy! However we are fully back up online and can now blog and Internet shop until our hearts are content!!

A short one today, mainly down to my head banging, middle mouse is napping (I'm jealous!) and night time partying has begun for HK mouse! So I thought I would share the music I am listening to whilst relaxing, blogging and recovering...you guessed it Live Lounges are on the wayyyy!!!!

Ben Howard is top of the list, amazing voice and massively talented, I love him! Singing his current track 'Only Love'...

Love her or hate her...she can sing and puts a lot of effort in here covering David Guetta's 'Titanium'...not sure about her pink rhinestone 'T' earpiece though!

I just LOVE Marina, I think she is effortlessly cool, gorgeous, incredible distinctive voice and always releases brilliant catchy songs. Not only that but she is amazing live...here she is with Primdonna...

Finally this is especially for HK mouse...this week she admitted on Twitter that she has fallen for Justin Beiber-lake, so I thought this cover of 'Boyfriend' was pretty fitting (plus it's Marina...win win!)...

And in case that didn't give you your 'Beiber-lake' fix HK mouse, here's the original....JUST FOR YOU!!!!

I'm off to hide under my duvet now...however Middle mouse has woken and has the bright idea of getting Boris Bikes in the sun...keep your eyes peeled on Twitter, there could be some golden photos uploaded!!!!

Drink All Day, Play All Night...We're in Miami Trick!

This is our final Miami instalment...boo hoo seems like a distant memory now!! You should be totally up to speed on restaurants and know exactly where you're staying.  So what else could there be left to swot up on.... after hours activities of course!

I can by no means claim to be an expert after only seven days in Miami, especially as the going out scene is so vast and we barely made a dent in it (despite valiant efforts)! However we did check some goodies off the list that are definitely worth blogging about! So let the partying commence...

Dare the door at the Delano...

One of my favourites had to be the Delano - located in an amazing Art Deco style building, this urban resort hotel is on Collins Avenue right amid the buzz of South Beach. The hotel boasts 208 rooms, two restaurants - Bianca and Umi Sushi and Sake bar, The Rose Bar, the Delano Beach Club and a club called FDR. Everywhere is decorated with a sleek, clean finish and in greek-isle inspired white! Philippe Stark was enlisted to design the interiors of the Delano and has evidently created a masterpiece exuding world class style.

It's notoriously difficult to get in if you aren't a guest so one word of advice, girls dress to impress and boys take some hot girls with you! We were lucky enough to make friends with a group of guys in The Shelborne next door, who knew the manager of the bar at the Delano Beach Club and we managed to walk straight in and right into a VIP cabana...eeekk!

Everything about the Delano oozes class and style, from the difficult doormen, the dimly lit hotel lobby, to the long walkways through the reception surrounded by billowing white curtains creating hideaway coves and secret snugs just begging for bad behaviour! The outside space is simply beautiful, candles and lanterns are littered everywhere lighting the paths and steps to the Beach Club. There is a real seal of exclusivity to this hotel, especially the sought after pool side bungalows...I peeped through a window of one and spied some Kartell Louis Ghost chairs, huge pristine sofas and white, white, and a bit more white - they looked amazing!!

The bar served up strong, crisp Hendricks (extra gold star!), however I couldn't tell you if it was expensive or not, as girls, whip out your british accents and BAM, free drinks all round!!!

Look for the Light...

The one thing I will say about Miami that trumps London everytime, is how friendly the people are. Actually scratch that, how friendly guys are - the girls on the other hand took a massive disliking to us everywhere we went...in our hotel, in bars, at clubs and even in restaurants! However as a London girl you will make tonnes of guy friends everywhere you go! Someone we met at the Sunday pool party suggested we go to Foxhole, he said it's a top secret bar where lots of famous sport stars go in the hope not to be hassled or recognised! So of course off we went...to change all that!!

All I will tell you is think super cool, a bit more casual than typical Miami bars, dim lighting and a wrap around bar, oh and for the guys there is even a pool table and a juke box!! Just look for a bright red light down an alleyway off Alton Road (close to our new obsession Whole Foods!!) and there you have it!!

Sip Champagne at the Setai...

TOP TIP - after hours of pre-Miami internet research I stumbled across Champagne happy hour at The Setai hotel - what better kind of happy hour is there than a Champagne happy hour?! On Fridays and Saturdays from 5-7pm, head down and you get glasses of Tattinger Champagne for $16 each and complimentary canapes!

If that isn't good enough for you then just wait until you see the Setai! This hotel is incredible...pure tranquility and total zen. You feel a definite gear change as soon as you enter the hotel; the Mondrian, Delano and Shelborne concentrate on being 'happening' hotels, where as the Setai can only be described as luxury. The attention to detail is everywhere and a relaxed ambience takes over immediately but without being pretentious!

As you walk in, to your left there is a long ornate bar with a chunky granite top and beautiful oriental details which leads out to gorgeous seating pods surrounding numerous water pools - perfect for early evening drinks. You then follow the path down to the pool area which consists of three pools scattered with big comfy sun loungers and over sized mattresses! Right at the very back is the pool bar, this has a gorgeous view overlooking the beach and is ideal for a sunset champagne cocktail!

Mansion Madness...

We weren't initially planning to go to Mansion, but thank god we did as we had so much fun!! We headed down around midnight and girls, once again be prepared to skip the queue (well crowd as Miami don't seem to understand the concept of a line?!) we also got discounted entry so paid about $15 cover each!

As soon as we were greeted by a girl bathing in rose petals dressed only in jewels and 'beauty is a sign of intelligence' sign, I knew I was going to be a fan...

The club itself was pretty impressive, big but not so big that you get lost every time you go to the bar, modern minimalistic interior with constant spectacles to keep you entertained...if the people watching, amazing music and beautiful boy spying doesn't suffice! Girls just appear dropping from the ceiling doing acrobatics on ropes, ridiculously toned guys dancing on podiums in nothing but tight golden shorts and huge feather wings and the one that kept me amused for hours, a nipple tassel wearing, fire sparking woman in a feather head-dress?!? Much better than Essex boys and coconut cocktails in Mayfair!

Cocktail Kings....

By the time we'd landed in Miami, spent two hours getting through visa and passport control and had sorted out four broken key cards to finally break into our suite...all we wanted was a strong drink to make us feel human again! Lucky for us there had been an 'off the hook' party by our pool at the Mondrian that Saturday so we didn't have to stray far from our room!

The Sunset Lounge isn't huge in size but with an ornate black spiral staircase accented with lots of high gloss white, killer cocktails, amazing bar snacks and a DJ playing fun music, you couldn't ask for much more!

We sipped on Lychee and Elderflower Caipirinhas from jam jars, super strong but super yum...you just couldn't resist ordering the next round! We also nibbled on the Asia De Cuba bar menu, opting for Pulled Pork Belly and Black Soy Beans, Rock Shrimp and Calamari Tempura, Wagyu Tartare rolls and Edamame beans...super delicious and every scrap disappeared (however we had been dining on Virgin Atlantic food all day!!)

As the night went on the bar got busier and the small dance floor filled up...the night ended with a dance off between a group of professional dancer / models followed by a late night paddle in the pool to cool down! Perfect way to fill a jet lagged first night we thought!!

Live it up at LIV....

Before jetting off the one thing everyone told us to do in Miami was go to LIV Club at the Fontaine Bleau Hotel. We eventually made it down on our last night, a bit of a tight squeeze but we made it in the end! As it was a Friday it was $40 entry and once again a HUGE crowd around the door. Flash that Brit accent and your hot outfit and you'll be in before you know it!

Another impressive Miami haunt but personally I'd say Mansion ranked higher in the club stakes for me. We had loads of fun, the music was good but the crowd was a lot younger and a little pretentious - more interested in making sure that everyone was looking at them than having fun...definitely not the scene for a dance off or two!

However I did come across my favourite scenario in a nightclub... A bride and groom with half their wedding party at a post reception rave! Very surreal to see a dainty bride in a huge white wedding dress, necking grey goose from the bottle whilst dancing on a podium!!!

So that's it, our Miami adventures are well and truly over...boo hooo hooooo! I can't recommend it all highly enough, we had so much fun and if you're going I am SUPER jealous!!

So now for my next holiday....any suggestions?!?!

This Week the Mice have mostly Been...

OMG what a week...totally and utterly jam packed and I am one exhausted mouse!! No hangover in sight this week (gold star for me!) but there's still time to change that this weekend in MIAMI....! Work has been crazy, the gym has been a must in an emergency bid to get that bikini body and then of course tonnes of blogging, prepping and packing for holiday!! I am tired just reading all of that but nearly there and then it's HOLIDAY TIME...good God do us mice need it...not only for ourselves but to report back to all of you of course!!

So....this week the mice have mostly been....

Preening as much as humanly possible...we don't want to let the side down so outfit building, trying on sessions and beauty treatments have been going down in East London! So far we've been most impressed by our Shellac nails. Middle mouse got a hot red on all 4 paws and I went for a bright coral...so far looking good and super duper shiny! We'll report back after 2 weeks of partying, suncream and sand and see if they go the distance! Eyelash extensions are up next and scheduled in for tomorrow night....ekkkk, I am a little scared! However Big mouse's post a few weeks back makes me excited! Bring on the transformation of my skinny stumps to long whispy lashes, ideal to flutter over a martini or two....!

Watching... The brand new series of Apprentice, even though it's cringeworthy watching try-hards squabbling and boasting to Sir Alan, I still love it! So far I haven't learnt any names but the right girl definitely went ("There are definitely lots of boutique shops just down here, right by London zoo?!" REALLY?!). I can also tell you now that there are no hotties to get you through the Wednesday viewing (unless you're a guy, there are a few hot'ish girls!) and I'm totally against that purple eyeshadow - not a good look!!! Here's to 11 more weeks of catfights, back-stabbing and brown nosing....I can't wait!

On that note check out this oldie but goodie You Tube video...it's hilarious esp from 3 minutes on, well done Cassette Boy it never fails to make me laugh...

Listening to... I'm afraid (well actually I'm not!) it's another Live Lounge but I just can't stop pulling these ones out of the bag!! I've even got my friend, Kitty, at work on it! She actually dug this bad boy out...Florence covering 'Take Care' by Drake ft. Rihanna. Ignore the strange chat at the beginning and enjoy my friends.....

Lusting after...these fabulous Givenchy 100mm glitter Buckled Sandals. I loved Miu Miu's glitter boots, Topshop's version with their Astrid Boots (I snapped up a pair for Middle Mouse) and now these beauties...! I think every girl needs some glitter footwear in their life...don't you?? (Slight glitch, they cost £655.00 BUT pay day is super soon!)

With that i am off to join the Glitterati in Miami (see what I did there!?) and I will be back soon to report back on all my exciting adventures. Have a good couple of week my micey friends....
