This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Before we delve into what us Micebag's have been up to this week, I just want to share a statement that will hopefully get you in the right frame of mind to get through the last and final day of the week...

Apart from being completely in love with the fact that it's Friday, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Sunning it up in beautiful Cadiz, Spain. You may remember a while back we brought you this travel review which went into great detail about our out of this world amazing stay at boutique Casa La Siesta and another quaint little hotel, Escondrijo Well a few years back I entered a photography competition via Casa La Siesta's facebook page and WON! In return I was gifted a weekend's stay at the little slice of heaven and this was that stay...

I jetted off over the bank holiday to make the most of the extra day off! We only stayed for 4 nights but because of how instantly relaxed you feel as soon as you set foot within the hotel it felt more like a week! Let me set the scene - whispering is really the only way to communicate and at times even that's a little too loud. It's literally the quietest place on earth - you are tucked up in rolling Spanish countryside without sight of another house, road or being for miles. Complete uninterrupted bliss!

The food is also a huge pull. Beakfast would quite happily keep me going all week - toasted granola, yogurt and the sweet honey, homemade warm bread with jams & butter, fruits, eggs with avocado on the side, freshly sqeezed orange - the list goes on... Lunch and dinner are as mindblowing - everyday the hotel staff write up the 3-course menu on a blackboard which they prop up in the courtyard. There is no choice - you have what you're given but I challenge you not to die and go to heaven after every spoon or forkful!

In summary (because I could go on forever) I pretty much spent my time sunbathing and snoozing poolside (waking myself up between snores), fitting as much scrumptious food and free booze in as humanly possible, nicknaming and gossiping about the couples also staying (we all do it) and just generally having a fabulously beautiful time ... I want to do it all over again! this weekend!

Drooling over Rosie Huntington-Whiteley new lingerie styles within the Rosie for Autograph range. She recently marked her one year anniversary milestone with the highstreet retailer and celebrated suitably with cake! An insider secret squirrel gave word that each team at M&S head office also received the same cake supposedly from Rosie herself - reckon she baked each and every one herself in just her silk underwear...!?!

Her new pieces are going from strength to strength boasting luxe fabrics, cutesy floral designs, elaborate lace trims and we can vouch for the perfect fit. Mini mouse is the proud owner of the French teddy and has been strutting her Rosie-esque stuff around the flat every night this week...

We're also tempted by these little beauties...

After seeing Rosie bare all, I think we all need another pick me up - what better way to do that than think of the fun and frolics we have to come this weekend whilst knowing Rosie will be sweating away in the gym to maintain her waif-like waist! I feel better now AND on that note...

On Our Fashion Radar: C by Christing C

We always have one ear to the ground listening out for new label loveliness, so when we heard rumblings that Christing C, Hong Kong blogger and all round fab fashionista, was bringing out her very own fashion line, we were pretty damn excited! And thankfully C by Christing C is everything we'd hoped for and more...

In fact we're struggling to find anything from her debut collection that we don't desperately want to get our mitts on immediately. From breezy silk dresses to little lacy shorts, these are the pieces that your wardrobe has been crying out for.

Pen's at the ready, prepare to write-up your C by Christing C wish list...

Real Life Superwoman Cara...

Cara Delevingne is currently queen of 'what's hot' and it seems it will take nothing short of a superhuman strength whirlwind to shift her from that top spot! It all began at ten years old when she hit the pages of Italian Vogue with a Philip Treacy shoot, and ever since the hype has built and built and built....

Image via www.graziadaily.co.uk

Now at the age of 21 she's fashion's most wanted while the rest of us just want to be her (or at least her bff)! Those famous bushy eyebrows and that strong bone structure have got her through a potentially career-wrecking drug scandal, granted her the title of 2012's model of the year and bagged her campaigns with Burberry, YSL, Chanel and DKNY... and that's not even getting started on her ability to generate headlines with her personal life - we're talking cat fights with her 'wifey' Rita Ora, wild partying with her new best girl Rihanna and hook ups with Harry Styles... phew!

Seriously can this girl add anything else to her list of talents?!

Turns out she definitely can, having just recorded a duet with singer/songwriter Will Heard! Check it out and be prepared to feel just a tad more depressed...skinny, rich, beautiful, fun and she can sing?! Life is very UNFAIR!

The VMAs 2013: from bare faced chic to baring cheeks...

We meant to post this yesterday but it's taken us 24 hours to get over that flesh coloured latex bikini and Miley Cyrus' quite terrifying tongue

In case you somehow missed the source of our bemusement...

Gifs via: www.mirror.co.uk

Yup, no words hey...?!

Other attendees of Sunday's VMAs did actually decide to wear some clothes (although in some cases it may have caused less offence all round if they'd just followed Miley's example...).

We love a good awards red carpet not least because, as it mean as it sounds, nothing brings us greater pleasure than the fact that even celebrities who have designer clothes and shoes thrown at them, a stylist on speed dial and professional hair, make-up and spray tan people at their beck and call still manage to get it so very horribly wrong... The VMAs, like the Grammys, are a particular delight because the mix of reality stars, Z-listers and the occasional actual mega star trying to do down-with-the-kids-cool is the perfect recipe for a menagerie of fashion fall out. We'd really love to know the stats on instances of stylists getting sacked the day after the VMAs...

So here for your viewing pleasure is our round-up of the best-dressed (the Phwoars), the dullards (the Snores), those dressed as animals (the Roars... ok that was just Katy Perry and it's a bit tenuous but it rhymes...) and the people who clearly got dressed in the dark by colourblind clowns...

The Phwoars

Ciara in Givenchy

Holland Roden in Naeem Khan

Alison Williams in Valentino

Joan Smalls in Viktor & Rolf

Shailene Woodley in Pucci

The Snores

Taylor Swift in safe Herve Leger

Ed Sheeran in the same outfit he always wears

Rihanna in a T-shirt and jeans

The Roars

Katy Perry in Emanuel Ungaro

We think we actually preferred when Coco was roaring this look down the red carpet at the Met Ball back in February...

The Colourblind Clown Crew

Richard Simmons in something understated

Robin Thicke in a referee's Sunday best

Lil' Kim in a too tight perforated bin bag and custard-coloured boots

Justin Timberlake in white steel-cap toed shoes and a bib

Sarah Hyland in Wonderwoman's Cast-offs

DJ Cassidy in Bert the Chimney Sweep's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Costume

Miley in EVERYTHING

And top beauty trend of the evening? Pared-back, simple, almost scrubbed clean faces reigned supreme.

Left to Right: Lady Gaga; Rita Ora; Erin Wasson; and Ciara.

We suspect the beauty memo doing the rounds read 'bare-faced chic' but somewhere between Miley's memo reader and her latex hotpants specialist the Chinese Whispers ended in 'bare ass cheek' - poor old team Cyrus, we'd expect your P45s in the post tomorrow...

Accessories Update With Zalora

The magazine stands are stuffed with weighty September Issues, Fashion Month is fast approaching and we're gleefully eyeing up all the gorgeous autumn pieces that have just dropped at all our high street favs. We're still hoping for at least a glimmer more of summer but in the meantime its vital to get our winter wardrobes stocked before all the best pieces sell out (or at least that's how we're justifying the large dent in this month's pay cheque...).

That being said, we've always been big believers in the more savvy way to get a new season wardrobe refresh - step up the accessories update... Take a few trusty staples - let's say a little black dress, the perfect pair of skinny jeans, a few basic t-shirts and a well cut blazer - and with a sprinkling of the right accessories you can look bang up to date for less than the price of the zip of that lickable orange Balenciaga leather jacket on the cover of British Vogue...

We've always found Zara and ASOS great sources to hit up for a little accessories lift, but we've recently come across a gem of a website for all you Asia-based fashionistas looking for a touch of purse friendly accessorising, Zalora. This haven of e-bargains has until now been unchartered Mice shopping territory. Let's just say we sorted that out pretty quickly...

I recently snapped up a couple of new treats, you know, just to test the site out...

House of Harlow Necklace

This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

    It's Frrrrrriday!

Woo hoo, we made it! It's time to pack away our PCs and staplers for another week and get stuck into some serious Friday fun.

One of the Mice is going to be having a little more fun than the others this weekend though. One of us will be lounging in the sun by a turquoise pool, sipping on Sangria and feasting on Paella and gazpacho. And it's not me or Mini... Yup, Middle Mouse has jetted off on yet another holiday...

She's barely finished unpacking her bikinis after her hols in Portugal and now she's back in the Mediterranean sun for a few days of blissing out at a bit of a Mice favourite, Casa la Siesta

All three of us first stayed at Casa La Siesta just over two years ago and we haven't stopped raving about it since. Perched on the South-West Coast of Spain, just outside the beautiful hilltop town of Vejer, this little haven of holiday perfection was the ideal spot for some super-pampered sister time.

So when Middle zipped off this week for round two it was with ill-disguised, green eyed jealousy that we waved her off...

And when Mini and I haven't been madly attempting to contort ourselves into Middle Mouse's suitcase, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Genning up on all things new season courtesy of Fash-fabulous new digital fashion and beauty magazine, Never Underdressed.

Jam-packed with the lowdown on everything from autumn's biggest trends (hello cartoon camo print) to filling your Instagram feed with beautiful people and even a list of 'won't be able to believe that you ever lived without them' beauty gems - whatever your sartorial dilemma, Never Underdressed has your back. Hop over to the site now to help draw up your weekend shopping list (got to snap up your new season essentials before they sell out...) or just to drool over the full autumn/winter Christian Louboutin Shoe Collection. Just FYI though, these babies are mine...

Squaring up to some stiff competition  as the super exciting What the Frock Blogger Style Off kicks off... A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I'd been working on a project with my go to Hong Kong label for gorgeous, girlie dresses and this week, I can finally spill all the details...

To celebrate the launch of the revamped (and dangerously shoppable) What the Frock website, me and five other Hong Kong bloggers are going head to head in a little style off... Each of us picked out our favourite dress of the season along with some jewels from the sparkly new jewellery collection and, after adding a dash of our own style, were shot in our looks by the uber-talented photographer/model/stylista/blogger, Sabrina Sikora

My final look? Well here it is...

    I'm wearing:

    Tank Maxi
    HK$1,199

    Large Blue Bauble Necklace
    HK$399

    Large Turquoise Bauble Necklace
    HK$399

If you hop over to the What the Frock Facebook Page you can view each of our photos and help decide who's crowned queen of the bloggers by voting for your favourite look. All voters who provide their email address will also be automatically entered into a lucky draw for the chance to win their favourite dress or piece of jewellery. What are you waiting for...?!

And that's your lot for another week!

All that's left to be said is...

    Happy Weekend!
