Get Fit, Get Fabulous...

So as you may have read yesterday in our 2014 resolutions post, one of mine is to get bikini fit. Not overly unusual but one I am deadly serious about. I want to feel good, healthy and a lot less tired and lethargic than I did in 2013.

I'm not going to start any crazy crash diets or promise not to drink, as I want this to be an ongoing change, so it needs to be realistic. So I've decided to go back to basics - eat healthily, cut out refined carbs as much as possible and strictly no chocolate or crisps. That paired with regular exercise should be a good basis and I swear to swap large glasses of wine for gin & slime line tonics! I may step this up closer to Barbados beach o'clock in March but for January this is my plan.

If, like me, the gym can be a laborious task mixed with slight fear and something akin to a rabbit in the headlights, then 3BM has just the solution for you.

If cash is no issue then I obviously highly recommend a gym trainer, firstly there is no greater motivation than a hot toned man to get you to the gym but most importantly they push you, make you do exercises you'd never dream of doing alone and give you the comfort of being in the capable hands of somebody who knows their stuff.

However, if like me you currently can't afford another monthly outgoing on top of gym membership, then you simply need to download the Nike Training App
to your phone. It's basically like having a gym trainer everywhere you go with all sorts of workouts designed for you at the tap of a Smartphone.

Firstly you select the type of work out you want:

- Get Lean (to slim down)
- Get Toned (to get defined)
- Get Strong (to build your strength) or
- Get Focused (shorter 15 minute workouts to target specific areas)

You then select your level - beginner, intermediate or advanced, and select your workout within there. There are pictures, videos and details of how each exercise should be carried out, it can be set to music and either followed manually step-by-step or played through your earphones like an instructor telling you what to do and when to start and stop!

I'm literally obsessed with Get Focused workouts, with names like 'Bikini Legs', 'Alpha Abs' and 'Better Butt' it's all the inspiration I need to get my resolution going!

As always changing your eating is the easier part and having professional gym workouts at your fingertips is half the battle, however actually getting yourself to the gym is much much trickier! So I thought I'd end with some inspiration to get fit and most certainly fabulous...!

This Week the Mice have Mostly Been

Ummm....Yes! Yes it is actually!

Hello too many cocktails, lazy lie-ins and (fingers super, super crossed) at least a little bit of sunshine...!

So what's been occurring in Miceland this week? Let's take a little jog through anything and everything that's been occupying our little Mice minds over the past seven days... This week the Mice have mostly been...

Getting juicy with it on a three day juice detox courtesy of the lovely ladies at Punch Detox.

I'll be writing up my full review for Sassy Hong Kong very soon, but in the meantime I'll just say I'm definitely feeling, lighter, brighter and more refreshed. Swapping my usual meals for six juices sounded pretty terrifying on paper, but other than a couple of minor wobbles, it was actually fairly easy (not least because the juices are all really yummy).

And any mild anger/ gnawing hunger was one hundred percent worth it just for the ability to elicit horrified expressions all day yesterday, when I told everyone I saw that I hadn't eaten for three days... If you can't wait for all the juice on detoxing, our super lovely friend, Sarah, has also just finished a juice cleanse, check out her juice fast post on her sparkly brand new blog, The Gym Ninja.

Brushing up on skincare, having finally got round to buying a Clarisonic. So actually, at least a little bit of my new brightness may also be down to my latest bit of beauty high techery! The Clarisonic has been on my 'to invest' list for forever, but I was finally spurred into bagging my very own giant electric toothbrush for your face, after reading India Knight's fab beauty column in the Sunday Times gushing about it a couple of weeks ago.

So last weekend I popped into Lane Crawford where I snapped up a Clarisonic Mia 2 and I've been diligently brushing my face twice a day ever since. My skin definitely feels much softer and smoother than it usually it does; in fact it feels pretty much like it usually would right after a facial. So far so impressed, I'll report back after further use...

Getting Gatsby Fever along with the rest of the world... There are now just seven little days until the much anticipated Baz Luhrmann adaptation of The Great Gatsby is finally released! We don't think that we've EVER been this excited about a film EVER (as evidenced by the fact that we first posted about it almost a year ago...)! We downloaded the soundtrack on Monday and we've had it on a loop ever since - it really is spine tinglingly amazing! In case the even more brilliant trailer has somehow passed you by, brace yourself for three minutes of sheer GG overexcitement...

Gearing up for round number four of Bikini Fit. After two weeks off, the new Bikini Fit programme kicks off on Monday. My attendance was a little patchy over the past couple of programmes because of being sick and doing lots of travel (a little work, a lot of play), but I'm determined to step up my game this programme. Junk season is within spitting distance and the prospect of wearing a bikini in public is currently giving me nightmares...

I'm told that the 7am programme (which I'm signed up for) sold out in a matter of hours, but for any other girls in Hong Kong looking to kickstart their fitness regime there are apparently still a couple of places left on the 8am programme also starting on Monday. Head over to the website to sign up - get in there quick!

That's it for another week!

Lots of Friday love

Let's get Chic and Physical...

Images via www.hollyscoop.com & http://ganeriviktsnabbt.se

I introduce you to my bikini body inspiration - Jessica and Miranda (I hate you but love you!) When you open the fridge and reach for that icy cold bottle of Marlborough perched before your eyes, when you reach for that bag of giant chocolate buttons at the check out or go to press the stop button on the treadmill...think again...just envisage these two beach goddesses and do the right thing!!!!!

I have officially turned over a new leaf and I'm on a summer time bikini body mission, no more lazy evenings crying my eyes out in front of Private Practice (my new series obsession, if you don't know about it get involved!!), no more nights where another bottle of wine seems like a good idea or piling those carbs high on my dinner plate...O NOOO I am now a serious gym goer, salad cruncher and slim line tonic girl!!! I'm not going crazy militant and depriving myself of everything naughty, a summer wouldn't be a summer without a chilled G&T or Pimms in the sun (and you do also get your 5 a day with a jug of Pimms, so cutting that out would just be silly!!) but I am making a concerted effort to make myself one toned piece of mouse muscle!!!

It even took over my bank holiday weekend instagram feed...

Although a day later this picture followed...

However, to get myself fully prepped and in the mood, there are a few essentials I need in my gym satchel...a bottle of ice cold water, a pair of boxing gloves, an upbeat inspirational iPod play list (see my post last year here that I still actually listen to) and finally chic gym get up. No one wants to look any more unattractive than they already have to in the gym...bright red, sweaty, out of breath and all with the day's make-up half way down your face...so I feel some hot gym wear doesn't hurt anyone!

Kick start that gym bug inside you and look chic whilst you do it...that's our plan anyway! See our top picks below...
