Matchy-Matchy Magic...

I bow down to the new match-made-in-heaven trend that has taken the fashion world by storm... Yes that's right people, spring sets are sexy!

Printed coordinates are, it would seem, the new Mary Kate and Ashley. The only rule is that everything must match - a concept that doesn't sit particularly well with me as I've always been taught that being colour co-ordinated is not cool. In fact I've always been lead to believe that matchy matchy is for fashion roadkill! That said however, I've fallen for this fashion fad hook, line and sinker.

So much so, that last weekend, I spent the majority of my Sunday scouring the internet for perfect pairing inspiration and boy did I find it...

Convinced? I certainly am and plan to spend the rest of my Sunday playing match maker bagging myself a sizzling set to rock next weekend!

The Fashionista Who Lived In A Shoe: Mary Katrantzou S/S '14

Oh London Fashion Week, we love you so, so much! You really are the ruby red, gleaming cherry on the top of the fashion cake - a great big juicy, sweet bite of (perhaps ever so slightly kitsch) deliciousness.

Don't get us wrong, we've lapped up a week of Stateside polished grooming and sleek, wearable pieces. We've loved the easy elegance of the boxy, sports-luxe separates; the tailoring with a zesty dash of prep; and all those jaw-droppingly stunning Hollywood gowns. But, we're sorry Calvin, Tommy, Ralph and Oscar, we lost our hearts to London years ago and no amount of glossy slick sheen can match up to the riotous sartorial spectacle of the British capital's catwalks.

And, if there's one show that we always look forward to with particular Christmas Eve-like glee, it's Mary Katrantzou. The Greek designer's intricate digital prints, often cast in eye-popping brights, had us at Hello all the way back in 2009... Every season since, we've waited with baited breath, sure that no collection could be as amazing as the last, and every season since Katrantzou has somehow managed to kick things up a notch.

This season thankfully was no exception.

Well, how could three shoe obsessed Katrantzou super-fans ever be anything but completely bowled over by a collection inspired by footwear?! From shiny conker-coloured brogues to acid bright trainers and, last but not least, intricately, bejewelled evening slippers, Katrantzou has literally made it possible for you to live in a shoe.

MK, you are a fashion genius. That is all...

Silk Scarf Crush: Laura Orchant

What's the one thing that finishes off an outfit with a little extra pizazz, cosiness and a splash of colour and interest...an amazing scarf of course! We've blogged about the fabulous Lily & Lionel HK skyline scarf in our January post, but for those of you who are London readers, I have found a fabulous alternative! I bring you...Laura Orchant and her amazing silk scarf collection!

The prints are beautiful, the colour palettes popping and the hand feel is simply quality, as soon as I saw the collection I fell in love. Laura, the founder and lead designer, sketches all the scarf patterns inspired from nature and the natural world surrounding her. Her drawings are then digitally enhanced and this is how the scarf designs are born, staple wardrobe additions with a fashionable twist. For me it is the incredible graphics and colours that got my instant attention, striking yet still managing to be commercial. The other element I love is that all designs come in three different sizes - no more skimpy scarf syndrome!

We're not the only ones lusting after these beauties, Laura has also designed a range of scarves for Liberty and worked on prints for Firetrap, watch this space...I've seen the prints to come for Autumn/Winter and they are impressive to say the least!

Here's a taster of the AW13 designs...

The Calm Gallery: Keep Calm and Shop, Shop, Shop...

As the nights get colder (or if you're in Hong Kong, less humid...) somehow everyone seems to come over a touch more homebody. When it's bitterly cold and wet outside, a Saturday night out seems much less inviting than curling up on the sofa under a blanket with a big glass of wine and a good film. When you finally unchain yourself from your desk each evening and it's dark outside, heading out doesn't even cross your mind, all you want to do is scurry straight home as fast as you can, put on your pyjamas and have a huge mug of tea.

And if you're going to be spending more and more time there in the coming months, it's surely the perfect point to spruce up your snuggly little nest so that it's even more inviting on those long, chilly winter nights. Six months' supply of hot chocolate, a onesie and a super soft blanket are basic winter supplies, but if you want to go above and beyond that, there's no better way to give your home a little lift than with a visit to the very lovely online print boutique, the Calm Gallery.

Set up back in 2007 by husband and wife team, Lucas and Hayley Lepola, the Calm Gallery is an online gallery featuring prints and homeware by a group of artists and designers from around the world. Head over the website and prepare to want every single piece of the unique array of prints, tea towels and postcards on sale. A mish mash of pithy, witty messages, clever typography and beautiful illustration with a generous dollop of vintage charm, Calm Gallery has curated a collection of pieces that would give any room a bit of zing and sparkle. 'Buy me', you can hear them whisper, 'I'll make your house just that little bit more fabulous'...

Print-tastic Pants

Prints are huge news.

And the printed trouser is everywhere right now.

The SS12 catwalks were awash with printed pants from Nicole Miller and DVF in New York to Mary Katrantzou, Erdem and Peter Pilotto in London and Roberto Cavalli and Etro in Milan.  But the printed trouser doesn't appear to be a one season wonder, the AW12 catwalks were also print and pattern crazy....Prada had fab 60's geo, Marni went mad for monochrome statement prints and some amazing ombre striped patterns at Nicole Miller.
