This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been

It's F...F...F...Frrrriday!

And my God are we ready for two whole days of drinking too many cocktails, dancing on tables and sleeping until lunchtime! We've just got a few more office-bound hours to get through and then we're free!

So, go grab a coffee and something disgustingly calorific - we're here to distract you from deadlines and dull emails for the next five minutes with tales of the last seven days in Mouseland. This week the Mice have mostly been...

Jangling our bangles following the delivery of our new Whistles wrist candy. We're huge fans of this London high street store in general, but we are particularly partial to the very awesome Whistles accessories collection. We raved about our first Whistles bangle purchase in one of our very first This Week the Mice Have Mostly Been back in February 2012. Fast forward a year and a half, we've added a couple more bangles to our collection and we're still raving!

This season's purchase was three stacking bangles in mixed metals, wear them solo or all at once - snap them up here, here and here for a bargainous £20 a piece!

Blubbing our way through Richard Curtis' brand new masterpiece, About Time. We laughed, we cringed, we ahh-ed, we sobbed...Take our word for it, this may just be the best Richard Curtis film yet. It's better than Four Weddings, better than Notting Hill, and even better than Love Actually... if you haven't seen it, book your tickets pronto.

Taking Beach Bumming to the next level and discovering what we think might just be Hong Kong's best beach...

As last weekend was a long weekend in the 852 and because the weather was stunningly beautiful, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to fill our Kindles with good books (more on that soon), pack up a picnic and venture out to find some new sunbaking spots.

Misson accomplished!

We were going to keep our new favourite beach a secret, but that seems a little bit mean so... if you're in Hong Kong and looking for a beautiful and relatively uncrowded beach, the smart choice has to be Long Ke. Perched up in the New Territories, a couple of bays round from Tai Long Wan, this is a pristine crescent of sugary golden sand sandwiched between a forest of pine trees and crashing turquoise waves. Actually, you probably wouldn't like it, you definitely shouldn't go...

And that's your lot! Get back to looking busy while surreptitiously buying shoes (might we point you in the direction of the Kurt Geiger website where you just have to tap in 'STS20' at the checkout to get a 20% discount on all new season stock...) and before you know it will be 6pm and Gin & Tonic O'clock!

It's official The Great Gatsby has been released, our months of waiting are finally over...well for most of us that is! Middle Mouse refuses to go until she's read the book... I was done reading five years agoooooo...it looks as if I will have to wait a little longer!! Having said that, what happens when Middle Mouse is in Hong Kong stays with Mini Mouse...a sneaky cinema trip may just work it's way into my agenda!

The trailer has had us in total suspense, the soundtrack is stuck on repeat and the glimpses of Carey Mulligan in glamorous 20's fashion has given us the itch to go shopping immediately!

It appears to not only be having this effect on just us, Alice Temperley has dedicated an entire shop window to 1920s 'Gatsby-esque' fashion and even has a section on the website titled '1920s Bright Young People'...an edit of 20s inspired dressing!

Winter Warmers...

Winter has officially set in here in London, the clocks have gone back and you no longer see even an hour of daylight. You leave in the morning in the pitch black and as you pack your satchel for hometime at the end of the day, it's also dark...depressing! Even more depressing perhaps is that now's the time that you naturally pile on the pounds...exercise in these temperatures is a complete no go and cold crunchy salads are the last thing on the menu each evening - instead creamy mash, hearty stews, roast dinners and shephards pie are staples...basically anything fattening and carb filled unfortunately!

So as thoughtful as ever, we have come up with the best solution! One that will make you happy, takes zero energy (you need all you have to keep you warm!), makes you look good with the oversized, drapey styling and makes you feel SUPER cosy!! It can only be 3BM's cosy cashmere lust list of course!

Firstly if you are saving the pennies right now you may want to stop reading this post now...there is some serious cashmere candy coming up and it will stretch that overdraft limit considerably!

I became addicted after owning my first cashmere tracksuit from M&S - at £250 a pop they don't come cheap but they are definately worth it! The words 'Footballers' and 'Wives' might spring to mind when you hear tracksuit, however I only agree when worn in public with ugg boots! I on the other hand save mine for freezing winter evenings at home after a hard day at work when all you need is a comfy night wrapped up on the sofa with feel good TV, a glass of red wine and a bowl full of sausages and mash! Even better M&S presents you with a cashmere tracksuit that can be machine washed...perfection! Since then I have been sold and have my eyes currently peeled for my new cashmere capsule wardrobe...!

See our top picks available now...you know you want some...! If you're residing in hotter climates i.e HK, you may be on the beach now, but it will get chilly soon, and until then whack up the air conditioning until your teeth are chattering - there is ALWAYS an excuse when we're talking cashmere!
