L'Occitane Goes Brazilian...

Last week we were invited to spritz and slather to our hearts' content at an exclusive showcase of the L'Occitane Au Bresil collection. A range created orginally just for Brazilians but now I'm pleased to say, we're getting a slice of the pie a few years on - better late than never!
We were invited to the Covent Garden store one sunny afternoon, so Mini Mouse and I arrived feeling suitable summery - here's a snap to prove London does see sunshine once in a while...

As soon as we walked in our thirsts were quenched by the choice of a delicious Brazilian cherry pop or a tropical oh-so-fruity juice - we greedily took both!

We were then taken through the products and given background on how this range was originally born. With a light and fruity fragrance, this body and sun care collection was lovingly created with hot temperatures in mind. Interestingly, in Brazil, this collection makes up the entire product range in L'Occitane stores. Due to import taxes, the distinctly French scope of products we know and love are too costly for the Brazilians and so the founder, Olivier Baussan created a standalone collection just for Brazil using locally sourced ingredients - Jenipapo, a citrus tree and Vitória Régia, a water lily.

The Vitória Régia products (which translates as 'queen of the waters') are split into two -  a day range and a night range. This actually mirrors the flower itself, which has a split day/night personality. During the day it's closed and asleep to protect its beautiful petals from the sun, and then at night it comes alive and blooms releasing a sweet fragrance. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and for this flower, it's sooner rather than later, as it only lives for one day and night before fading away - sob!

The Jenipapo collection is made using ingredients from its namesake fruit tree. The products boast notes of citrus, watermelon and my favourite pina colada -this one smells good enough to eat!

Jenipapo Sun Care - Protecting Body Oil (SPF 15) - 150ml - £20

Jenipapo Sun Care - Face Protection (SPF 30) - 25ml - £26

We were also treated to a pair of vibrant colour-popping flip flops and super sweet Brazilian wish friendship bracelets ... gorgeous!

The L'Occitane Au Bresil collection is on sale in-store and online now but be quick because the range is limited edition and I have a feeling stocks are going to sell out fast...!

Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice...

You may have gathered by now that when it comes to perfume brands, Jo Malone is the only one for me! The love I feel for Jo could be compared to the love I feel for Ryan Gosling - ever lasting, all consuming and bordering on obsessive! I'm totally and utterly hooked. So much so I don't even bother with the 30ml bottles anymore… well that's about to change, because the limited edition Sugar & Spice range has just launched, and the five delectable fragrances only come in the 30ml form! After spritzing each and every one in Selfridges last week, I'm now set on owning all five of the sugary sweet and perfectly formed gang members!

Ginger Biscuit...

and... Redcurrant & Cream.

Snap them up quick because like all Jo limited editions, these babies won't hang around for long!

Anya Hindmarch : The Art of Storytelling...

Everyone loves a good story don't they? Why is it that something seems so much more appealing if you understand the tale behind it? Well clever Anya Hindmarch has cottoned onto this ahead of the busiest gifting period and has emerged as the J.K.Rowling of the fashion world with her latest 'All I've Ever Wanted' collection.

The all singing all dancing super duper spangly range represents exactly what's going on in Anya's head. That paired with two Christmas childhood memories I think we can all hark back to ... firstly, Quality Street, remember the excitement of being given a box by an ancient family relative and your eyes glazing over at the sight of all those wonderful rainbow metallic coloured wrappers? Secondly, that special moment each year when you would be taken to see your favourite toy shop window all dressed up, packed full of promises and ready to make lots of little people's dreams come true! Well Anya wanted to capture these magical feelings and inject them into the 'All I've Ever Wanted' range, and that she certainly did...

Each designer piece comes packed up in a toy box boasting beautifully nostalgic packaging ... pastel colours, playful fonts and simple graphics. My many Barbies used to come in boxes just like the one above!

Before I introduce you to the very fabulous collection, which you'll instantly fall in love with by the way, I thought I'd share the below teaser showing you the inside of Anya's weird and wonderful factory of dreams...

Anyway, enough of that, time for the good stuff ... the products!

Yes this bag really does light up! Its smattering of glitter and tiny LED lights will have you looking like a fashion-forward Christmas tree fairy in no time...

The Marano Dancer, £495

If the 'jazz hands' light-up evening bag wasn't out there enough for you, why not opt for the snow globe version! Seriously though if this wasn't Anya Hindmarch there is no fricking way anyone would buy this but stamp that iconic bow on the bag and people go stir crazy...

Leave your iPod at home when you're armed with the following - all you have to do it wind up the clutch and 'Deck The Halls' will play out loud and proud...

The Marano Music Box, £595

Well the following super cute metallic line needs no explanation, each and every coin purse inspired by those little Quality Street drops of heaven. Sadly these little gems aren't coated with chocolate and don't have a scrumptious centre, but we still think they're pretty delicious...

Change Purse, £100

Right, i'm off to my local corner shop - all that talk of Quality Street has got me craving chocolate big time!

Keep the colour, keep the feeling - Dove launch...

What colour are you - Yellow, red, blue, earthy? Well Dove divulged that I am in fact a sunshine yellow girl. Let me explain more...

Last night I enjoyed an evening of colour brilliance at the launch of the new Dove Colour Radiance haircare range. The products promise to help all women hold onto that 'just left the hair salon' feeling and will work to retain your hair's vibrant colour and feel for up to 10 weeks. Pretty impressive stuff eh AND the range smells divine!

Last night after a long day at work, I battled my way through the madness that is Leicester Square tube station and wrestled with my over-used M&S brolly as the July British weather worked against me. After that ordeal, I was ready for a drink, a STRONG one!

Finally I arrived at the Future Gallery and was immediately whisked away by one of the super duper Dove PR girls to be taken on a sensory experience overload. In front of me stood four pillars labeled 'listen to me', 'touch me', 'eat me' & 'smell me'. The point of the exercise was to push you to match a colour to a sense and to change your perception of how you see and feel colour. So, for example the 'listen to me' pod played a soundbite of a fire engine - RED of course! While 'Eat me' was a cube of zesty lemon jelly - YELLOW! Get it?

After successfully smashing the colour test, I moved into the main press event area. Here waiting for me were four areas set up to represent Dove's four latest hair colour trends. Think Pinterest mood boards - buzz words, textured fabrics and illuminating lighting with real life models sitting in the middle. At this stage the Dove girls took me through a couple of final steps to reveal my true colours... And spookily the corresponding hairstyle to my sunshine yellow - big and bouncy - is exactly the look I'm currently channeling...

After that it was time for a couple of drinks and some serious hair chat with celebrity hair colourist, Sophia Lloyd, and hair stylist, Enzo Volpe who were on hand to advise on how to reach your true hair colour potential.

Which brings us back to the products that will help you hang on to that colour. The new Dove Colour Radiance range is made up of four different products, a dual-action express treatment conditioner, a colour radiance shampoo, a colour radiance conditioner and a leave-in conditioner & care spray. I was lucky enough to receive a goody bag containing all four, so now I just need to find enough time for a night in washing my hair so that I can try them all out!

We were also treated to an exclusive preview of Dove's latest 'Real Women' advert for the range. Check it out below, a really beautiful story...

The Dove Colour Radiance range is available nationwide in the UK priced at an affordable  £2.39 RRP.
