This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Happy Friday to all our FAVOURITE readers, take a deep breathe and shout a big...

...because it's the WEEKEND!!!

Week one of November down and only seven more to go until Christmas eeee...OK I promise to only issue a countdown once we hit December - however I'm already secretly very excited!!

When we haven't been secretly wishing away four weeks so we can watch Love Actually and Elf, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Checking out Hoxton Square's new addition (and part of our favourite cocktail group) 5CC Electricity Showrooms

I've got a blurry recollection of many nights in my early London years, stumbling around the original Electricity Showrooms bar staring in wonderment at the multi coloured flashing dance floor and generally being a little worse for wear!

Panic over the bar's still there but the lower floor has been taken over by the fabulous 5CC and transformed the space into a cosy drinking den, with the flashing dance floor still in tact of course!

A couple of weeks ago we fell head over heels for the 5CC bar below, the Well and Bucket on Bethnal Green Road (if you missed it you can check our review out here), so we were super excited to be invited to the Showrooms launch.

This outpost is a more open space than W&B, but just as cosy and chic. The decor continues in the same 5CC style...leather booths, neon signage adorning the shabby chic walls, candles on every table and an air of a hidden gem fills the room!

We were kindly greeted with some delicious cocktails - one sip of a Gin and elderflower concoction and I was hooked for the rest of the night! If there is one thing 5CC know it's their cocktails...

With guest DJs at the weekend, I can see that dance floor getting just as much wear as it did before, but this time with a killer cocktail in hand!

All in all a great addition to the square and of course 3BM's little black book of fun!

Wrapping up snug and cosy...well for a couple of days we did - when the colder weather decided to pop-in. But then last week we were back to temperatures of 24 degrees! Who knows which way it's going to go, however I for one want to be fully prepared when it does permanently kick-in.

Step one (and the most important in my opinion!) is ensuring your bed is the comfiest, cosiest place to hide away from the Arctic temperatures!!

When it comes to bed linen we're pretty boring at London Towers, it's pretty much white, white and more white! I love nothing more than crisp white cotton bedding, until that is, I came across Urban Outfitter's range...I think I could possibly be a convert! I may stay safe and stick to the stripes or the arrowheads for now but if you're a little braver they have foxes and all sorts!!

3BM favs...

Arrowhead Double Duvet Set, £50...

With step one complete, next up is Coats and Knitwear for the perfect Winter warmer wardrobe but we'll tackle that another time...!

Right you lovely lot, let the countdown commence to your first G&T of the weekend and let the fun begin...!

This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Yet another week has zoomed by and guess what...we're officially under 12 weeks to Christmas!!! Roll on those cosy cashmere jumpers, steaming mugs of mulled wine and snggly sofa nights in whilst the bitter cold and rain pelts down  outside!

On the flip side...oh so much to do in 12 weeks...halloween, finding the perfect pair of winter boots and a coat for that matter, Daddy Mouse and HK Mouse's birthdays, picking and wrapping the most perfect Christmas gifts and deciding how to ring in the New Year...wow!

Argggg...for now lets just be happy that...

This week the Mice have mostly been...

Scouring the shops for some much needed going out gems. During Summer I always find everyone dresses more casually and as Autumn/Winter hits, we all push into next gear towards dressy. That's fine with us, there's nothing that makes a night more fun than a getting ready session with all the girls, wine and emerging dressed to the nines with a whole heap of fabulous fun ahead!

One of my best girls is moving to Australia with her husband this week. They promise it's just for a for a couple of years (or so they say!) to explore what the other side of the world has to offer...beaches, sun, BBQs and koalas...mmm tough choice!!

Anyway we'd planned a big farewell dinner, followed by cocktails and night of full on debauchery at The Box which came with strict instructions to glam up! This I love...until I go shopping and find very few choices in the shops! I was on a last minute mission so online wasn't an option, Oxford Circus was all I had! Topshop nothing but crop tops and sequins, Urban Outfitters just casual, casual and a bit more casual, H&M full to brim of knitwear and knitwear only, COS beautiful but mainly workwear and finally my regular saviour Zara...lots of lovely pieces but all suited to daytime chic and nothing expressing a hint of evening glam! After much huffing and puffing I eventually punted for a tux play suit from Zara - with the help of a few safety pins I felt ready to go but it was a struggle...a bit of a worry when the party season is approaching!

So...when a little Body Frock parcel arrived earlier this week I breathed a sigh of relief...of course they would come up trumps and placate such worries! Now if you don't know Body Frock you really should...we blogged about them last November and they're simply fabulous! Their secret is a pull-you-in slip dress under each style - it's the answer to all our prayers, once you have one you won't stop wearing it believe me!

We each chose a dress from the new collection, I went for The Jamie £165...

And Middle Mouse chose The Natalie, £255...

Two outfits sorted thanks to Body Frock, now just fifty more to locate!!!

Itching to get to the cinema and let the movie nights begin! When the cold creeps in, it's less about wandering the streets trying to find that great new bar that's just opened, and more about trotting off to your local cinema to enjoy a great film all cosy and warm! If it's an Everyman cinema then bonus points as this can be done with a glass of wine and nibbles, perfection!

And it just gets better and better as there's some seriously good films winging their way to our screens which we're all SUPER excited for!

First up the recently released Gone Girl, I haven't managed to fit it in my diary just yet but we've got a doodle going with the girls to find a date we can all make and I cannot wait!!! The book was amazing, even if I did scream with frustration at the ending whilst lazing in a hammock overlooking peaceful Sri Lankan paddy fields, there's no denying it was one hell of a page turner. Gushing reviews are already claiming it to be the next box office hit and if you didn't love the book you should go anyway as a couple of hours starring at Ben Affleck is never a bad thing!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is released on 21st October and it can't come sooner! I was very late to the party with this one, never reading the books and only watching the first two last month! If like me, you ignored the hype and carried on re-watching Magic Mike and Crazy Stupid Love instead, then I urge you to get up to speed before the release date! They're ridiculously gripping to the point of me having to pause a number of time to calm down and Jennifer Lawrence is amazing, you fall in love with her as a character, I officially want to be her when I grow up - beautiful, clever and brave!

Even if it doesn't seem like a film you'd usually like (believe me I'm the queen of rom-coms), give it 10 minutes you you'll be hooked...

Finally, but by no means least, Fifty Shade of Grey! OK it's not the most literary of books and there were many people out there slating it, however to sell 100m copies worldwide you have to be doing something right?!

I for one will be there in February next year waiting to see the Billionaire Christian Slater seduce innocent student Anastasia Steele, and the fact that Jamie Dornen plays Christian is the icing on the cake! If you're in the office you may want to plug your ear phones in for this trailer and turn your screen so no one can see...!!

Right on that note I'll leave you all to count down the final hours until cocktail o'clock! Have the most fabulous weekend!

Party in Paradise...

Another bank holiday weekend but this time jam packed with long sunny days, lots of partying and too much al fresco drinking...our favourite way to pass the time!

We kicked off with some Friday champagne and girlie catch ups...

Got our fitness head on for a Saturday morning (more like lunchtime) jog in the beautiful Victoria Park...

Followed by a few too many ice cold glasses of Marlborough at the newly refurbished Cat and Mutton. However our favourite part of the weekend had to be the fabulous Kensington Roof Gardens One Day party on Sunday...

Not only was it heavenly to rid ourselves of those dreaded Sunday blues but the sun was shining, the beautiful people were out in force and we were high up away from all the city bustle, partying the day away without a care in the world!

I've never been to the venue before but there is no doubt that I shall be back. The setting is beautiful with three different gardens to enjoy, we spent most of our time in the Spanish Garden which as it name indicates has an amazing Mediterranean vibe. Based on the Alhambra palaces in Granada you literally feel a world away among the ornate arches, creeping vines, dusted pink buildings with vivid turquoise peeling painted doors and palm trees decorating every view.

We also couldn't help taking a little snoop around the Tudor Garden, English Woodland and up to the rooftop Babylon Restaurant which has incredible views over the gardens and London's skyline. Sadly as there were a few too many visitors with glasses of champagne in hand, the flamingos were grazing in private, however usually they can be seen roaming the gardens at their own leisure...I literally love this place!

Anyway back to the party...it was the perfect combination of Ibiza meets Chelsea...amazing DJs, delicious cocktails (served in watering cans), a great upbeat vibe but with a slick and super chic crowd. I half expected the party to have an underlying pretentious air to it, but I can honestly say I didn't experience a whiff of it....everyone was super friendly and just there to have a good time.

Tickets sold out on day one so it was pretty busy but not jam packed, in my opinion the ideal number to avoid toe trampling but still bursting with atmosphere and fun. We literally didn't stop laughing and dancing all day, for us Mice it was the perfect Sunday bringing back memories of fun filled days partying in Ibiza. The only negative I can say is that it wrapped up at 8pm...we would have loved to have stayed all night long but I guess that gives us an excuse to go back!

Fear not...you haven't missed out they are holding one of their legendary Love Brunch parties very soon on 17th May...think a boozy Vegas brunch affair with far too much champagne, DJs and dancing! Check out the site here and get your tickets here - be quick though as the early bird tickets are already totally sold out!!

This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Thank god this week is finally coming to a close because for us Mice that means just one thing...

I can barely contain my excitement... firstly I have never been before and secondly the thought of all being reunited and exploring the city together is too much!! Work has well and truly taken over for all three of us the last few weeks, so to have a break away with quality time to catch up is much needed. Bring on the shopping, cocktails and fun, even if we do freeze whilst doing it!

When we haven't been manically wrapping up at work, throwing outfits into suitcases and squeezing in last minute NYC research, this week the Mice have mostly been....

Hiding out at our favourite newly discovered Dalston drinking den, Ruby's! It's been on our hit list for months and for some reason it's taken us an age to make our way there... something we're definitely kicking ourselves about now!

If you're after something laid back, cosy and a little bit different then this is your place. Look out for the retro cinema sign on Stoke Newington Road and some stairs beside it lit up in a vibrant red...

Once in you feel as though you're in someones living room, it's small, low lit, retro but effortlessly cool.

However fear not, it isn't one of those places trying too hard with no substance. Yes it's cool, quirky and fun but believe us, there are some serious cocktails going on! The list is relatively short (never exceeding 14 options) which is a good sign as no one can be a master of too many things! We've sampled several between us and weren't once disappointed... my favourite had to be the Rhubarb Sour - delicious!

Head down and check this gem out... a great date place, the perfect girly cocktail haunt and a firm fav in the 3BM little black book!!

Slathering on Baby Lips at every given opportunity! I read about Maybelline's cute lip balm winging it's way over to the UK a while back, as ever I'm easily drawn into the hype and immediately added it to my shopping list.

A few weeks ago I was browsing in Boots and came across a rack of these beauties and that was it... to say I'm obsessed is an understatement! Baby Lips claims to keep lips moisturised for 8 hours, offers SPF 20 protection and to restore your lips back to baby-new within a week! ALL for just £2.99 - I was SOLD! I opted for the baby pink one which gives a fun rosy tint, however there are five other options to pick from and at the moment Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on them... get collecting!!!!

Now there's no excuse to not have the perfect pout everywhere you go...!!

All that's left to say is have a lovely, lovely weekend and we'll be back a week on Monday with no doubt many pictures and tales to tell, eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
