Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2012...

Soooo we are breaking 3BM tradition and postponing 'This Week The Mice have mostly been...' until tomorrow - sad I know but we would only do it for something very special....the Cosmo Bloggers Awards of course!

Firstly how ridiculously amazing to be nominated in the 'Best Lifestyle Blog' Category, all three of us were extremely proud to be invited let alone make the final nominations! Secondly we love a good party so this only heightened the Mice excitement when the save the date dropped into our inbox! As you all know we started 3BM back in February and have been blogging daily ever since! Between the crazy work hours, mice holidays and busy personal schedules I think we have only missed a couple of days blogs - pretty good going...so far! 

Unfortunately HK mouse was on holiday so couldn't attend but us London mice were there with bells on! We scurried about at work secretly refreshing our makeup at our desks, wriggling out of our day old skinny jeans and at 5:30pm on the dot skipped out to meet one another!

SO.....we were up against some pretty stiff competition BUT we won highly commended runners up!!!!! We could not believe it when our name was read out and our Mice pictures came up on the screens - so much so we actually had a mini sister spat! I thought runners up just smiled and lapped up the applause, however Middle Mouse was going up to the stage...!! Turns out she was right...we collected our certificate, prize and had photos...argggg AMAZING, we literally couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces!!! Proof for you all....

Moments after and VERY excited but sad Biggie wasn't there to celebrate!

Mayfair Honey - Cirok Vodka, elderflower water, honey syrup, lime juice and watermelon

We went home with.....

The goody bag was literally bursting at the seams, so much so one of the handles broke on my shoulder! It was like Christmas when we got home squealing as we unearthed Elemis goodies, St Tropez tan, Urban Decay make up, Next clutch bag, Palmers cocoa butter oil, limited edition Jean Paul Gaultier Coca Cola bottle and the list goes on!!

After all the excitement of the evening we decided to go for a final celebratory glass of Champagne at Charlotte Street Hotel. The waitress asked us what we were celebrating after witnessing constant peering at our certificate, facebooking, tweeting and excitedly talking non-stop, and then sent over a congratulatory cupcake which just topped the evening off - as Mary Poppins would say...practically perfect in every way - just missing our big sissy!

What a night, we had so much fun and owe Cosmo a HUGE thank you and of course want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of our blog readers and everyone who voted for us!!!! We are so very proud and still cannot believe it, totally and utterly chuffed! What a great way to end the week and kick off two days of glorious free time...have a fabulous weekend our fav blog friends...

This Week the Mice Have Mostly Been...

Wow! What a week!

We think the last seven days might just have been the most exciting since we started blogging in February (yup we've almost been going for six whole months now...!). We know we've been blogging, Tweeting, Facebooking and just generally crowing about it all week, but in case you've somehow missed it, we found out this week that we've been shortlisted for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. We're going to stop squawking about it now but not before we've done one last beg.... please, please, please vote for us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And when we haven't been dancing with glee and pinching ourselves to check that its not just a dream, we've had a pretty busy week this week. So in summary, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Smoasting from sunbeds in the Mediterranean sun. This is getting minimal bog space because if it's possible, there's been more smug photo-posting this week than there's been mention of the word 'Cosmopolitan'... Yes, the London Mice are currently tanned and tipsy in Portugal. Yes, they're having a great time. Yes we're all jealous. Job done.

Junking in the South China Sea. Well if you can't beat them, join them. While the London Mice are poolside in Portugal, the mercury has been soaring in Hong Kong and we've finally had some scorching, summery weather. When the heat's on, staying in the city means melting - much better to head out on a boat with all your friends, a cool box of rose and some very ill-advised homemade vodka jellies... Last week's junk was Arabian Nights themed, queue a boat-load of girls in veils and boys in dish dashes. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to debut my Never Fully Dressed jewelled headdress - not strictly Arabian but still! If you haven't discovered online boutique, Never Fully Dressed yet, I suggest you check it out immediately. Whether you're on the hunt for the perfect, simple sundress or an uber-bling sequin encrusted top, Never Fully Dressed is a treasure trove of chic finds. Amping up our tans with orange. Nothing sets off sunkissed skin (or in my case, a small smattering of freckles) quite like a dash of orange. But if you're not quite brave enough to go all out, orange nails are the perfect answer. We're currently trying to get our mitts on a bottle of summer's must-have nail colour from Chanel - Holiday, a zingy, suits-everyone orange.

In the meantime, we've plumped for a couple of coats of Barry M in coral. At £2.99 a bottle, it's impressively chip-proof and adds a splash of colour for about

the same price as a carton of Tropicana...

Getting Fizzy with it - toasting the opening of the newest member of the DiVino group - Patio, with crate-loads of Fiol Prosecco. Following in the footsteps of its older brothers: DiVinio, Carpaccio, Spasso and Goccia, this brand new Italian is set just on the edge of Wanchai in the Causeway Centre. Last night at the launch party, we ate slice after slice of delicious pizza and far too many super yummy mini burgers before swiftly working off the excess calories with a hyper-competitive game of fussball. Best discovery of the night for me though was my new favourite drink, Fiol! The Mice are already Prosecco fiends but Fiol is going to take the obsession to a whole new level... I'm currently working out how I'm going to get several cases back to England this summer to help fuel the Mouse reunion fun...

The Mice

WE'VE BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR THE COSMOPOLITAN BLOG AWARDS!!!!

I think yesterday may just have been the best Monday on record for the Mice so far.


Monday is usually a day of darkness. The weekend's over, the next one is five whole days away and all the rubbish stuff that you put off until after the weekend last Friday are suddenly things that need to be done immediately...


Every Monday Mini Mouse has to be up at some disgusting hour when, even in the summer, it's dark outside so that she can get in for her incredibly early Monday morning meeting. Middle Mouse always finds the first wake up of the week the hardest as she's a bit of a fan of a weekend lie in. And I always have Sunday night insomnia so that by the time my Blackberry makes the nauseating sound that it makes to tell me to get out of bed and go to the gym, I feel as though I have only just closed my eyes...


But yesterday was a whole lot different to usual.


For a start the London Mice were basking poolside in the Mediterranean sunshine, sipping Pimms and reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Over in the East, I wasn't having quite such a blissful day as I was in work as usual but, living vicariously through the girls' holiday photos, I was definitely feeling a little more cheerful.

But cheerful elevated to ecstatic when yesterday evening/afternoon (depending on which time zone we're talking) we got some super exciting news... WE'VE BEEN SHORTLSTED FOR THE COSMOPOLITAN BLOG AWARDS!!!!! Queue lots of desperately trying to call each other and general overexcitedness! 

We're up for the Best Lifestyle Blog Award and we still can't quite believe it! Nineteen other awesome blogs have also been nominated in our category so the competition's stiff but we're just incredibly happy to have been shortlisted!

The winner of each award will be decided on the basis of 50% reader vote and 50% Cosmopolitan judging panel so we're going to do a little bit of begging here - please, please, please vote for us! All you need to do is pop on over to the Cosmo website, enter your email address (this is just to stop spamming you won't be contacted by Cosmopolitan) and then click through to the Lifestyle category and click on our blog name (the vote's registered when you get a little green tick).
