Heiress vs Penniless: Wedge Trainers

Isabel Marant has done it again.

Last winter it was the fringed, wedge boot, this season its the wedge trainer.  Marant seems to have a knack for creating the It Shoe.  The Willow needs no introduction I'm sure, but let's just take a moment to worship the genius hi-top trainers concealing a three inch wedge heel.  A trainer that lengthens the leg and is still comfortable, the Willow looks great with skinny jeans or leather leggings but will look just as good with a little dress when the weather hots up (please let that be soon...).  See the Willow Street Style snaps below which nicely illustrate the point.

The slight issue with the Willow though, is that getting your hands on a pair of these babies is nigh on impossible.  As quickly as Net-a-Porter and My Theresa can restock, they've sold out again.  And coming in at around £430, they're pretty spenny particularly as, given their It Shoe status, they very probably won't be still gracing your feet this time next year.

Have no fear, we have the key to getting the Willow look without an Eccelstone budget.  Here are the 3BM alternative wedge trainers.

A postscript.

My boyfriend just leant over and looked at my screen, reeled back with a revolted expression on his face and said "you are not posting those disgusting new wedge trainer things are you?  Oh God.  Please don't, why would you do that?".  He then pulled up a photo of a remedial shoe on his iPad quickly followed by a photo of a Buffalo trainer from the Spice Girl days.

Girls, these are just one of those fabulous fashion pieces that boys' little minds will never understand.  Although I do have to admit that maybe the resemblance is more than just passing....
