The Beagle has Landed...

It's a New Year people and that calls for a brand new list of must-visit top notch restaurants. Yes I understand that the majority of you will be reading this and weeping whilst thinking what is this mad mouse talking about... it's January and i'm as skint as a pauper, they don't call it dry Jan for nothing! I hear you - I too am in for a long old cheap as chips Jan after way too much fun at Christmas BUT after the first month hump we can then start to get back to some level of fabulous normality.

When Jan pay day raises her beautiful head, this is my advice to you... get your sweet little mice selves to Beagle - a New York industrial chic restaurant nestled in the back streets of East London. Us Mice took it on a test run for you just before Christmas for a boozy sister brunch and we only have good things to say...

Jointly owned by two brothers, one of which is the restaurant founder of another firm sister favourite, Bonnie Gull. Beagle screams casual city chic as soon as you walk in - we're talking exposed brick walls, sky-high ceilings, snappy lighting with railway arches lining the way. The restaurant is housed underneath the old East London line so in keeping with this slice of history, Beagle is named after the first steam train to run on the line - nice touch...

Interior, credentials and fast facts aside, does the food live up to the shiny outer wrapper? YES IT DOES!

I'd heard good things about the coffee so first things first I had to have myself a skinny cappuccino - heaven in a cup. The girls opted for a morning merriment in the form of a berry bellini - why not! It didn't take much for me to also be persuaded so we called our super smiley waitress back and dialled up the cocktail order from 2 to a hell yeah 3...

Next up, the grub! Mini mouse and I opted for dishes from the brunch menu - the smoked streaky bacon, hash, fried eggs with a side of avocado caught my eye so I ordered that whilst Mini went for portobello mushrooms, toasted sourdough, poached egg and hollandaise. HK mouse decided to treat her taste buds to the lunch menu and tapped up venison haunch, caramelised swede, brussels and smoked bacon...

All in all a great little brunch slash lunch joint. I've heard that it's a hot spot in the evening too with a killer dinner menu and lots of buzz. I'm looking forward to my Feb return ticket already...
