The Golden Globes 2014: Mullets, Ear Cuffs and Bumps

Annnnnnd we're delighted to announce that Awards Season has officially kicked-off once more!

Could there be a better way to bring some cheer to the drabbest month of the year than by rounding up the world's A-Listers and getting them to parade down a length of red carpet week after week in millions of dollars worth of Couture, diamonds and perilously high heels?! What better motivation for keeping to that New Year's fitness regime and stepping away from the Jaffa Cakes than the beautiful people flashing miles of perfectly honed thigh and holding gleaming awards aloft using bingo-wing-less arms?! And quite apart from anything else, who doesn't love to pass a dreary Monday afternoon with a round or two of the incredibly mean but ridiculously fun, 'what the HELL is she wearing??'…

Last night's 71st Annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony provided the perfect kick-off to the season. From the girls who dazzled, to the girls who fizzled, to the girls who set the trends for the remainder of the awards carousel - we lapped up every single second of it. So without further ado, after much deliberation, we've dished out the awards that everyone's really interested in... the 3BM Golden Globes Garment Gongs...

The 3BM GGGG Red Hot Girl of the Night Award
goes to...
… well, it was a three way tie. Try as we might, we just couldn't pick between them - these three ladies in red were the out and out, runaway stars of the red carpet.

Amy Adams in Valentino
The American Hustle star kept it simple and plunging with just the right amount of bling (dying over that diamond pendant).

And for just a little extra dash of awesome, Amy shimmied off the carpet and straight into a matching cape.
We love.
A lot.

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren
Continuing in the caped crusader vein (did we mention we're obsessed with capes?!), Lupita Nyong'o rocketed right up the fashion richter scale with this delicious, swishtastic Ralph Lauren baby. We've just discovered our latest style crush.

Emma Watson in Christian Dior
Is it a dress? Is it trousers? No, it's a Super-Gown! We thought this was pretty smoking from the front but a quick spin and Hermione had us hook, line and sinker.

We're more than a little head over heels with the Dior double pearl single earring too. Swoon!

The 3BM GGGG Mullet Award (Business at the Back, Party at the Front) goes to…
...Michelle Dockery in Oscar de la Renta
The mullet hemline reigned supreme at this year's awards with everyone from Sandra Bullock to Zooey Deschanel getting in on the act, but Lady Mary really nailed it with old Hollywood styling and this Oscar de la Renta amazingness.

The 3BM GGGG Bertie Bassett Award for Services to Liquorice Allsorts goes to…
Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung
The sickly baby pink and powder blue satin doesn't look any less sweet shop with the seam of shiny black in the middle. All we can think of are the pink and blue bobbly liquorice allsorts that no one likes.

The 3bm GGGG Bombshell Award goes to…
…Amber Heard in Atelier Versace.
Va va vooming her way down the carpet, Mrs Jonny Depp looked smoking in Versace.

Thought she couldn't amp the look up beyond that thigh split? Think again, adding ear cuffs from Brazilian jewellery designer, Graziela Gems, took the look to stratospheric levels of hotness.

The 3BM GGGG Got Dressed in the Dark Award goes to...
…Julia Roberts in Dolce & Gabbana.
Why would one of Hollywood's most beautiful A-listers arrive at the Globes in an ill-fitting white shirt (with odd length sleeves) whacked under a black bandeau dress all tied together with a glittery belt? We're just completely baffled by this one...

The 3BM GGGG Hot Mamma Award goes to...
...Kerry Washington in Balenciaga
In what can only be described as the battle of the bumps, the Globes' red carpet was awash with maternity-wear. No Mothercare here though, Kerry Washington made her bump a super-chic feature with this stunning, custom-made, palest mint Balenciaga.

With just seven weeks until the Oscars, bump-free starlets better get a move on, if they're hoping to be sporting the hottest accessory of the season for the industry's biggest awards night of the year. A little more bump-spiration courtesy of Olivia & Drew...

Olivia Wilde in Gucci

Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhuillier

The 3BM GGGG Beautiful Silver Mermaid Award goes to…
…Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad
We're always partial to a bit of Murad when awards season hits. When else can you get away with curve-hugging, blingtastic, sequinned-to-within-an-inch-of-their-seams gowns? Murad tends to be the Latina designer of choice (think Longoria, Lopez and Vergara) but we think Kate's Murad may be one of our absolute favs to date - SO space age Ariel the Mermaid!

The 3BM GGGG Wild, Wild Mess Award goes to…
Heidi Klum in Gucci. And a choker. Enough said.

The 3BM GGGG Practically Perfect in Every Way Award goes to…
Julianna Margulies in Andrew Gn.
If you'd asked us to place bets on who'd walk away with this award yesterday, we'd have had our money firmly on Jennifer Lawrence. But, while J-Law looked very nice indeed in Christian Dior Couture, we couldn't help feeling a little underwhelmed by her look as a whole. Julianna on the other hand totally blew us away in Singaporean designer, Andrew Gn. Cap sleeves, a deep-v and a scattering of gilded coral detailing - this is just total red carpet gold.

The 3BM GGGG One To Watch Award goes to…
Margot Robbie in Gucci
Looking like a wolf in fierce clothing, the Wolf of Wall Street new kid on the block totally rocked the carpet like a seasoned pro. In slashed to the thigh, emerald studded white, major sartorial props to the newbie.

And Last but not least, the 3BM GGGG De Ja Vu Award goes jointly to…
…Robin Wright in Reem Acra & Naomi Watts in Tom Ford.
Sparkly, Champagne-hued, halterneck column gowns… Lightly tanned, toned arms… Natural, glowy make-up and sun-kissed Californian blonde highlights… check, check and double check.

Uh oh, someone sack the stylists…

What a wonderful red carpet romp?!

Monday well and truly brightened!

Roll on the Oscars...
