This Week the Mice have Mostly Been....

Hooray! It's Friday!

Quick round of applause, three cheers and a little pat on the back, you've made it through another week and now it's the weekend (or very nearly). To get your Friday started, here's a quick canter through another week in Mice world... this week the Mice have mostly been...

Ferociously scribbling Christmas lists as we're now only 45 days away from the big day! Can you tell that I'm just a little bit excited?! HK Mouse is coming home and for the first time in six years I've had the whole break signed off with work so no early mornings in between Christmas and New Year for me...YIPEE!! Which means I'm already eagerly counting down the days to the end of December when I'll be having champagne for breakfast and watching Elf, Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life on a loop all snug under a duvet with Christmas pyjamas on!  Eeeeek!

It's safe to say that I love everything about Christmas...absolutely everything that is BUT Christmas cake and Christmas pudding!

It makes me really sad after a big christmas dinner when everyone else is tucking into steaming pudding topped off with brandy butter, and i'm on boring old ice cream or my stocking chocolate coins! Well not this year, if like Middle Mouse and I, you're not a fan of traditional Christmas desserts, then head on down to good old Waitrose and snap up Heston Blumenthal's festive menu! Step up the perfect substitute to a Christmas Pudding - it looks JUST like the real deal but is in fact a chocolate shell filled with chocolate brownie and mulled wine soaked fruit all topped off with white chocolate icing in place of brandy butter! YUM! At £19.99 it isn't cheap but just think of all that super scrumptious Christmas cheer you'll be spreading as you serve this beauty up!

Getting down with the Mexican madness and hitting up the Barrio East Launch party - think amazing decor, super fun vibe and hot men in every corner, oh and caravan...!

You'll probably have heard of the Barrio chain as they already have Central and North London locations, however the East London branch is a brand new addition. Barrio Central is a 3BM fav, I've had a couple of ridiculously drunken nights on happy hour cocktails with a lot of dancing to the best music ever! I'm yet to visit the North London branch as I always get lured in by the cosiness of the Old Queens Head pub opposite, but it's definitely in my 3BM little black book of must try-spots! So being a bit of a Bario fan, when I heard that a Barrio East was opening on Shoreditch High Street, I jumped for joy - all the Barrio amazingness just a hop, skip and a jump from 3BM Towers in Bethnal Green! We were lucky enough to be invited to the launch party to try the new venue out and here's the 3BM verdict...

The Decor... easily five times bigger than the central location, there's a lot of space to play with but Barrio East have done themselves proud. Colour popping lampshades made from buckets, snaking lights and exposed pipes, walls plastered with comics and big neon signs and cosy little cabins perfect for giggly girlie catch-up cocktails or late night drinks with a date - overall, a cool but retro feel.

And, the
pièce de résistance has to be the caravan in the back room... lined with with crazy candy striped, bird wallpaper, and squidgy banquettes, hop inside this super cool hang out, order in some cocktails, kick back and enjoy people watching the dancefloor! This is where you'll find me from now on....!

The Cocktails...the champagne and cocktails were flowing all night so we were lucky enough to sample a couple of the delicious concoctions from the upcoming drinks menu. The 3BM fav was the Hawaii-N-Dry...a jazzed up cosmopolitan with grapefruit vodka and guava juice - mmmm! Best of all, our drinks were served up in jam jars with retro stripy helterskelter-esque straws!

The Vibe...the music is a fun mixture of latino tunes and current chart-toppers...I can imagine even more fun unfolding once you're cocktailed-up with a big group of your favourite people, hanging out in the caravan...big fat gypsy wedding eat your heart out! The crowd was young, trendy and pretty hot - always a bonus!

The Final Word...Without a doubt, the hottest spot to venture to on Shoreditch High Street right now - get yourself down there immediately!

Lusting after everything Monica Vinader especially the new Siren range. Firstly all three of us totally heart Monica jewellery...classy, chic, chunky, in a beautiful array of deep jewel hues - just generally gorgeous pieces that are pretty enough for special occasions but practical enough to bling up your everyday basics. We all own at least one piece and have our beady mouse eyes set on at least twenty more to add to the collection! So when I saw the new Siren rings recently my heart skipped a beat!

A plain gold ring but with a chunky circular face, simple but beautiful and the added bonus? You can get personal engraving on the front! The perfect canvas for matching '3BM' rings don't you think? Dear Father Christmas...

And that's just one piece...hop on over to the webiste and be prepared to fall head over heels in love...I literally want everything! Middle Mouse snapped up this amazing dainty gold disc bracelet a few weeks ago...perfect alone or layered with cuffs and bangles...

Or how about a new colourway of my favourite ever ring? I currently wear mine with everything...

And while we've been sipping cocktails and swooning over sparkly loveliness, over in Hong Kong, HK Mouse has mostly been...

Partying with the Brit Fash Pack at the London Showrooms launch. Mondays at HK Mouse HQ are usually spent curled up on the sofa catching up on the night before's episode of Downton Abbey, not this week though... when Monday evening rolled around HK Mouse swapped her tracksuit bottoms and slippers for skinny jeans and Louboutins and tottered down to new club on the block, Boujis, for an evening of British Fashion and cocktails (of the mock variety for me, I'm still Bikini Fitting...). Kicking off a three day pop-up showcasing the work of the brightest rising stars in British fashion, the club was packed with Hong Kong's fashion elite mingling with designers from Peter Pilotto to Roksanda Ilincic.

With plenty of champagne and air-kissing Monday was far more Ab Fab than drab - the perfect way to kick start the week.

Right all you lovely lot, we'll leave you to finish your Friday and have a fabulous weekend! HK Mouse has a teetotal weekend of shopping and sunning planned. While the London Mice are headed home to Chez Robinson for Daddy Mouse's Birthday! A weekend of cosy sofa snuggling, homemade roast dinners and a fridge full of goodies ahead, yipeeeee!

See you next week!
