Last Spring one particular catwalk show captured our imaginations - Dolce & Gabbana. Awash with dramatic black lace and heavy gold brocade, floral tapestry cross-stitch and intricate embellishment - the collection was luxurious and heartstoppingly beautiful - the perfect antidote to Europe's economic doom and gloom. The collection retained elements of the brand's signature look - corset tops and thigh-skimming, hot pant shorts - but managed to make them look fresh and new.
It was the sort of show that made us wish that the leaves were already turning orange and that temperatures would drop asap so that we could start channelling that gorgeous Italian opulence. As soon as those Dolce models stormed down the runway, we knew that baroque and floral tapestry prints would feature strongly in autumn's highstreet collections and our trusty favs certainly haven't let us down.
