The Grammys: Best & Worst Dressed List

The 54th Grammy Awards show has just ended over in LA bringing to a close a transatlantic night of awards (the Baftas were held in London last night too).

Hosted by LL Cool J, the awards featured Jennifer Hudson performing 'I Will Always Love You' in tribute to the 6-time Grammy winner, Whitney Houston, who died aged just 48 on Saturday.  As far as winners were concerned, Adele cleaned-up winning each of the six awards that she'd been nominated for including album of the year, record of the year and song of the year.  But the real reason we were watching?  The fashion of course.  So who rocked the red carpet and who hit a bit of a bum note (sorry, just couldn't resist the music puns...)?  We give you the 3BM round up of our Grammys best and worst dressed.

The Good...
Its black.  It has a plunging neckline.  The skirt's slashed to the thigh.  On paper its nothing special.  But Rihanna's custom made Armani dress totally stole the show.  Rihanna collaborated on the dress with Armani and said that it was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface.  For us, it's the beautiful back of the dress that makes this look.

And beautiful-backed dresses seemed the order of the night. Carrie Underwood dazzled in an embellished silvery-white Gomez-Gracia dress with cut-out back.

But the prize for the most beautiful back had to go to Taylor Swift in high-necked, gold-sequinned, lace Zuhair Murad.  The dress generally totally tops our list of favourites from the awards season so far.  Taylor really was the picture of elegance.

We also loved Paris Hilton's Basil Soda gown.  Not usually top of our best dressed lists, Paris looked stunning in white chiffon and lace with gold accents.  Really loving the trains that are all over the red carpets at the moment.

Last but not least, Katy Perry bringing a much needed pop of colour to our best dressed list.  Katy's pale baby blue Ellie Saab dress also had a low v-back and a train.  We love the dress but we're not quite sure about the matching blue quiff...

...The Bad...
Fergie comes very top of our Grammys worst dressed list in an orange Gaultier dress.  The only nice thing we can think to say about this look is great bod.  Hate the very visible black underwear and ugly underwear at that.  Hate the brash orange colour.  Hate the cheap looking lace.  Hate the puff sleeves.  But our absolute ultimate hate?  The collar.  Yuck.

Coming a close second, was Robyn in a white t-shirt paired with a too tight, too short white satin asymmetric skirt and platform desert boots.  We have no words.

...And the Crazy.
Its the Grammys, there's going to be some complete over the top crazy.  This year our favourite was Nikki Minaj in a bright red Atelier Versace nun's habit.  And her chaperone?  Who else? A man dressed as the pope... We heart you Nikki.
