This Week the Mice have Mostly Been...

BUSY.

For me this week has been a blur of planes, meetings, late nights in the office, mountains of documents and not enough sleep.  And it seems that over in London it's been a pretty similar story with planes swapped for the tube and lots of rain.

It must have been bad, we haven't even had the time to blog which has meant two post-less days...  But next week's a new week, here's hoping that the Mice can pull up their blog socks and get back to business as usual.

In the meantime, a round up of what we've squeezed in when we haven't been chained to our desks.  This week the Mice have mostly been....

Getting hooked on brand new NBC TV series, Smash.  Spending  twenty eight hours on a plane in the space of five days means dehydrated skin and serious jetlag but it does provide ample opportunity to get up to speed on all the films and TV series you've been meaning to watch but haven't quite got round to... First up, Oscar winners the Artist and the Iron Lady (both fantastic), then several back to back episodes of the new(ish) Zoe Deschanel series, the New Girl (silly but sweet), and lastly, my new obsession, Smash.  The new TV series is a musical drama about the creation of a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.  Great cast, high drama and lots of high-kicking, jazz hands, music numbers - I've only seen the first three episodes (all they had on board) and I can't wait to download the rest!  It's basically grown-up Glee with a huge side of Marilyn - add in a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a tub of Haagen Dazs and you pretty much have my ideal Friday night...Throw in Jack Davenport too and I'm in heaven!

Doing a little sundance in the vain hope that we may get at least a couple of weak rays straining through the clouds this weekend.  My brand new The Girl & The Water Letarte bikini is waiting for its debut and I have an Olympics themed junk tomorrow.  Come on sun, you can do it...

Pretending that I'm London bound and heading for a weekend of Lovebox awesomeness with the London Mice.  An incredible line-up, seriously good food, amazing after-parties and all a short ten minute stroll from Mouse Towers... All the festival fun without having to sleep in a tent and wash with baby wipe... If you're missing out too, here's my little Lovebox '12 playlist.  Turn it up loud, close your eyes and imagine you're dancing in Victoria Park with a Pear Cider...

Festival Fever...

I always look forward to Summer time in the UK ... I'm guessing you're all thinking why you crazy mouse?! Well it obviously isn't the amazing weather (last year our summer weather lasted for one weekend in April), the disgustingly humid tubes or laid back pace of life; It is of course the Festivals!

I know we're all sad about the lack of Glastonbury this year...but we do need portoloos for the olympics so all shall be forgiven, plus now you have some time and cash freed up to try some newbies! We have a pretty good festival scene, pulling in artists from all over the world, everyone gets together puts their egos aside and jumps around like they are children AND actually smile at one another...a rarity in London! Most years if we're lucky, we get semi sunny weather thrown in, but if not everyone is so used to our bipolar climate that they brave it anyway, we simply LOVE festival fever!

Living just down from Victoria Park, Lovebox is a definite, however it isn't just the proximity from my flat that makes me go, it is actually one of my favourites! The people watching is immense and the line-up is always impressive! I clearly remember in 2009 when Grove Armada headlined it was 9pm on a Sunday night, in the warm summer air and 'At The River' was drifiting out to a chilled crowd and then ramped up to 'Superstylin' and everyone went insane! It was so much fun; there and then I fell in love with Lovebox!! Peruse this years line-up and get your tickets quick...

Right line ups done, festivals picked, now for the biggest MOST important element...Festival Fashion!

You can sit there and say, I go for the music I don't care what I wear, but that is SO not true (and if it is true then it's SO not right!) All part of the fun is putting together your best festival wardrobe and looking festi-hot!

Coachella, dear to all celeb hearts and ours alike, is a great place to spy the festival trends for the year! As it always takes place just before our festival season kicks off, it's great for some inspiration! This year shorts scored very high in the fashion stakes ... denim, patterned, ripped, high waisted, hotpants - they were plastered upon every fashionista! Fringing was still huge - adding a cute boho edge, suede cowboy boots adorned the feet of many, maxi dresses, ombre and cropped tops ... the list goes on, take a little peak of our favs below:

So, I thought why not take the pain away and do it for you ... see my top festival picks that you can snap up right now and be disco done for Lovebox on 15th June, the first of many....
