This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Let's start this off by saying...

Not only is it the weekend but it's a bank holiday weekend...three glorious days of alarm free sleeping, Greys Anatomy catch ups (tissues at the ready) and guilt free Sunday night drinking!! What more could we want?!

After an exhausting week of working out as much as humanly possible and leaping back onto the clean eating waggon (those NYC pounds aren't going to shift themselves)..we're definitely ready for a long sleep!

When we haven't been squeezing into Lycra and forcing down everything green, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Channelling our nine year old selves whilst paying an early morning pit stop visit to the pop up Hersheson's braid bar in Topshop Oxford Circus.

I can clearly remember our pre-school early morning routine of taking turns on the hair stool whilst Mummy mouse patiently plaited each of our hair and tied our pigtails with different coloured ribbons. Slightly gymkhana but we loved it!

Well Hersheson's have set down their own hair stools in Topshop and grabbed the braid trend by the horns! You can pick from eight different styles and we're not talking pigtails and ribbons don't you worry! And, it's a bargainous
£15 for 15 minutes of braid work.

The styles range from seriously intricate snaking to more off-duty, messier styles - I opted for a fishtail braid which was plaited so speedily but meticulously, it was quite amazing! My stylist then worked a little magic with some pulling and fanning leaving me with a much thicker, super-chic fishtail - I loved it!

Middle Mouse went for a slightly edgier version with the undercut...

However if you fancy pimping your style, you can purchase Hersheson's hair extensions and get the plaiting for free!

Not only did we trot out with a beautiful braid each but an amazing goodie bag as well! (The brush is awesome!) We officially love Hersheson's...

Make sure you check out one of the pop up braid bars before 30th August - find full detail, the style menu and locations here

Gobbling everything in sight when it comes to our weekly cheat meal! Most recently, we opted for brunch at the amazing Honey & Co. This is one of those places you want to rave about because everything they do is so fantastic, however the other half of me wants to keep this gem as secret as humanly possible!

But here goes I'm feeling kind today...Honey & Co is owned by an Israeli couple who love everything about food - buying it, prepping it, cooking it, but mostly eating it...great start!  Itamar, has been cooking from the age of 5 and trained on the job in Tel-Aviv.
Co-owner and wife, Sarit, has previously worked for both Ottolenghi and Nopi...seriously safe hands I would say and boy are you in for a treat!

The interior doesn't wow or particularly give much away - we're talking basic white tables with paper table cloths, wooden chairs and stark walls. There are glimpses of the brilliance to come but it's not instantly obvious...the floor tiles are beautiful and ornate, a shelved wall is crammed full of delicious looking jars and brightly coloured Honey&Co cookbooks (which I now desperately want!) and at the far end you'll find a counter laden with delectable pastries and cakes - try not to look, believe me you'll never be able to decline no matter how full you may be!

Over the last few months I've managed to get a dinner and a brunch reservation - both of which didn't disappoint. Portions are pretty substantial and it's clear that rather than spending hours designing impressive presentation, an abundance of time and effort goes into the flavour of each dish instead. Like the decor, initial appearances might not be much, but it's all in the detail with Honey & Co.

Brunch offers killer egg dishes, thankfully a cut above your bog standard eggs benedict and scrambled eggs on toast - everything has a Middle Eastern twist and all I can say is wow...oh and make sure you order the side of sausages...SO YUM!

Scrambled eggs, chili tomatoes, yogurt and potato bread...

Shakshukar - Legbar eggs baked in tomato sauce with a milk bun...

Dinner was just as impressive and one I definitely need to sample again. They offer a set menu for £29.50 per person, for this you get a sharing mezze for the table, your pick of a main course and lastly a pudding! Next time I'll starve myself all day and opt for this one - rookie error on my first visit! However we weren't disappointed with our choices...far from it...

Delish cocktails to begin...

Followed by cinnamon and sesame seed falafel...

Potato fritters with goats cheese, thyme and honey...

We both went for the legendary Shawarma - slow cooked lamb, burnt pitta, goats yogurt, mint and pomegranate...

And finally on our latest brunch visit, we couldn't resist sharing a couple of the beautiful desserts...as I say once you've spied these bad boys there's no going back! They were every bit as delicious as they look - the lemon drizzle was to die for and the spiced bun with Chantilly cream came in a very close runner up...

A permanent edition to the 3BM London little black book...brunch, lunch or dinner - I can guarantee these guys will never disappoint!

Gawping each morning in amazement at our new Laura Mercier foundation and the transformation of our skin!

When it comes to foundations, tinted moisturisers and BB creams, I'm quite hard to please. Until recently I still haven't found THE ONE - either too orange in natural light, not moisturising enough for certain areas or completely non-existent by the end of the day! I've come close with Charlotte Tilbury and NARS, however not one of them has ever quite ticked all the boxes.

UNTIL....I found Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Photo Edition. Super light on your skin, great coverage, long lasting with a wide range of shades to pick from and most importantly blurs out imperfections giving a smooth finish.

My dream new beauty product and saviour, until that sun decides to put his hat on and give me a sun kissed gleam of course!

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Photo Edition, £35...

Right you lovely lot...it's time to get that head down and power through those final few hours before you can leap for joy and freedom!!

Before we go we'll leave you with some wise words...!

The Mice x
