When summer rolls around every weekend seems to bring at least six different music festivals in various sunny corners of the world. Unless it's Glastonbury when of course it will lash with rain but the line-up will be so awesome that no one will mind the mud or the soggy sleeping bags.
Being in Hong Kong, I definitely get serious festi-envy at this time of year but with the aid of the ever awesome Spotify, as soon as the line-ups are released, I grab my headphones and have a trawl through the carefully curated artists and bands to check for any new music brilliance which has slipped through the 3BM net.
This year my fav new find is brother sister pairing, Southern, who are playing at Reading and Secret Garden Party this summer.
Although the pair take their band name from their surname, the Southern thread runs through their music too, with plenty of bluesy guitars lacing their rocky pop. A couple of softer tracks showcase Lucy's voice and remind us of our other fav brother sister duo, Angus & Julia Stone.
Take a listen and tell me you're not looking forward to hearing them in a field at a festival this summer?
