Barnet in a box: Umberto Giannini

Do you remember when you were little when you used to demolish a boiled egg, draw a face on the shell and use it to grow your own cress? You would spend weeks trimming/styling your egg people's hair and watch it grow back time and time again. I remember those days fondly...

Well Umberto Giannini have done something similar ... well not similar but it does involves styling your own hair ... actually the egg cress people have nothing to do with it and the link is so tenuous it's actually quite ridiculous! I just wanted to talk about cress creatures that's all!

Anyway onto the real news! At the weekend I stumbled upon Umberto Giannini's range of hair styling kits in Boots. The collection comprises of 4 stylish looks: festival hair; up-do hair; backcomb hair; and vintage hair.  Each kit includes everything you need to nail the looks everyday just like the professionals do. From donuts to pintail combs and rags to feathery accessories, essentially you get the tools to create salon looks in the comfort of your own home without spending a fortune. The get-the-look packs retail at £12 each and can be used as many times as you like - amazing cost per hair wear!

Umberto Giannini's Artistic Director, Paul Gooch, has also put together exclusive how-to video guides covering hair style prep tips and pro-guides to creating these show stopping looks. These videos make recreating the looks so simple that even if your hairdressing experience stops at trimming cress when you were five, you'll be giving the experts a run for their money in no time at all.  Below is a sneak preview of the up-do video but customers who purchase the kits can simply scan the QR codes on the back of their pack to watch their specific 'do' video...
