Whistle-stop tour of Dubai...

So my Dubai to-do list part 1. Part 2 will follow when we visit again because seriously so much more to do, see and explore! In my opinion an amazing city ... sky scrapers galore, roads full of bright white flashy cars, endless luxurious hotel bars with views to die for and packed with hot young people just wanting to have fun fun fun 24/7.

Here are a few of my Dubai highlights...

Friday French Brasserie brunch at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel. If amazing unlimited food and cocktails are your thing then look no further.  A few firm favourites amongst the girly group were ... scrambled eggs with truffle, the seafood bar - there is no beating jumbo prawns, sashimi amazingness and heaps of smoked salmon and lobster.  And don't even get me started on the puddings... We got our incredible brunch at a bargain price of AED 150 which is about 25 quid through the Dubai equivalent of Groupon.  Thrifty Mice!

Sun, sun & more sun at Nasimi Beach Atlantis. If you're after some serious R&R time then grab a cab to this picture perfect beach. The deal is you pay for either a comfy lounger (150 AED - £25) or a Nikki Beach type cushioned white bed (500 AED per bed for 2 people - £85). The cost of your lounger/bed is deducted from your food & drink bill at the end of the day so really you're not paying anything and your treats throughout the day feel free because you've already paid for the lounger/bed ... win win! Definitely not your average beach bar - we can't recommend the sushi platters enough and the juices are very special.

The fountains and the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the WORLD) are a must if you're a tourist. Actually if I lived there I would visit regularly too as both are breathtaking. The choreographed fountain system was designed by the company responsible for some of the Vegas ones and t cost just under 150 million to create.  The fountains are illuminated by over 6,000 lights and can shoot water up to 150 metres into the air - spectacular is an understatement! If you're looking for somewhere to sit and take it all in without getting annoyed by the crowds and crowds of people fighting to get catch a glimpse, then The Address Downdown Dubai Hotel is just the ticket. Head to The Zeta bar for great drinks, strong coffee and yummy nibbly food. Get some refreshments in, sit back and catch one of the fountain shows which take place every 30 minutes. The shows are accompanied by music and lights ... we experienced Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You'.

We also very much enjoyed Madinat Jumeirah, which is designed to resemble a traditional Arabian town featuring a gorgeous outdoor courtyard full to the brim with restaurants and bars.

Last but not least, ladies night every Tuesday must be experienced. Free-flowing drinks at the majority of hotel bars for just girls and where the ladies go the boys will follow! Can't promise that they'll be the right boys though!!! Sore heads all round the next day but don't worry the boys can rally round after you as they'll be feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed :)

For next time I will most certainly be checking out...
