Great Grungy Grub

I kicked off the weekend with a cocktail & gossip date with one of my uni girls Vanessa - bored of the same old places we thought we'd try a newbie! We decided on Meat Liquor which is on Welbeck Street (just behind Oxford Street Debenhams), relatively new and so far great reviews.

First things first, if you're planing on heading down Thursday / Friday make sure you get there early, it has a no reservations policy and the queue does start to tail back by 6:30pm. However it is worth queuing for so go prepared for a bit of a wait!

It's got a really cool vibe to it - grungy, urban, quirky and very Lower East Side. The walls are covered in graffiti, exposed stone, stripped back chunky wooden tables, dimly lit bare lightbulbs and loud music.

Initially we sat at the bar and enjoyed some amazing cocktails, my fav was a concoction of gin, pear and champagne served up in a jam jar....delish! After about 30 mins we were taken to a seat hidden in a dark corner, perfect for gossiping, people watching and hot boy spying! We continued to try the amazing cocktails and quickly decided that food was a necessity...the trays emerging from the kitchens looked too good to miss! We opted for buffalo wings, fries and a dead hippie burger - the burger was amazing, cooked to perfection (medium rare) with an amazing sauce...I can safely say it was the best burger I've had in London!

It isn't expensive either, around £7 for a cocktail and the same for a burger - you can't really go wrong...!
